The Arctic Journey

A journey through the world's most beautiful landscape

The Arctic Journey between Tromsø and Svolvær

The Arctic Journey from Tromsø to Svolvær is an excellent way to experience the stunning natural beauty and unique culture of Northern Norway. Tromsø is known as the Gateway to the Arctic, while Svolvær is the largest town in the Lofoten archipelago, which is famous for its rugged mountains, deep fjords, and picturesque fishing villages. The journey will take you through some of the most beautiful nature in the world filled with world-class activities and experiences.

What to expect?

Tromsø is known as the "Gateway to the Arctic" and is a vibrant city with a rich cultural scene. It's a great starting point for the Arctic Journey to Svolvær, and there are many things to see and do in the city.

Some of the top attractions in Tromsø include the Arctic Cathedral, which features a striking modern design inspired by the Northern Lights, and the Polaria Aquarium, where you can learn about the unique marine life of the Arctic region. The city also has a lively food and drink scene, with many excellent restaurants serving traditional Norwegian cuisine, as well as international dishes.

After a day in Tromsø, we head towards Sommarøy

Sommarøy is a small island located outside Kvaløya on the Arctic coast. It's known for its stunning natural beauty, white sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters. Sommarøy is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, hiking, and birdwatching.

During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the Midnight Sun, where the sun remains above the horizon for 24 hours a day. This natural phenomenon allows for extended daylight hours, making it possible to explore the island and its surroundings at all times of the day.
When we arrive we will hike the summit of Hillesøytoppen, which is a small but lovely peak right by Sommarøy.
Further on from Hillesøytoppen, you look straight out at the ocean!
Our accommodation for the night is Sommarøy Arctic Hotel where we will have a lovely dinner to end the day.

The fairytale island Senja

Senja is the second-largest island in Norway. It's known for its rugged coastline, dramatic mountains, and picturesque fishing villages, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Senja offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, skiing, kayaking, and wildlife watching. The island is home to several scenic hiking trails, such as the Segla and Sukkertoppen mountains, which offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape. We will follow the Norwegian scenic route on the outside of the island and parts of it on e-bikes. This gives us a great opportunity to get many expressions on the way.

Our accommodation for the night is Hamn I Senja, which offers stunning views of the fjord and the surrounding mountains. The hotel has a range of accommodation options, including standard rooms, deluxe rooms, suites, and apartments, all designed to reflect the local culture and traditions.

The hotel's restaurant serves a variety of traditional Norwegian dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, such as fresh seafood and reindeer meat.

From Senja to Harstad
We start the day with a kayak trip from Hamn, here our kayak guide will take you on a unique experience in the Bergfjord where you will be kayaking in crystal blue waters, between big mountains and heading for white coral beaches.

Lofoten - The world's most beautiful islands
While beauty is subjective, Lofoten has been called one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the world by many travellers and publications due to its dramatic mountain peaks, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque fishing villages.

Why should you experience the Arctic journey?
You will get a lot of impressions in a short time, experience many different activities and sleep in great accommodations on the way. You experience culture and atmosphere surrounded by magical nature.
This is an experience of a lifetime and a fantastic way to experience Tromsø, Sommarøy, Senja and Lofoten
